facts are always very bitter and sometimes interesting. I came to know that number of search engines is more than 500,000 in world. It means Google is not alone to be a resource of traffic. Is it good to submit a site in these search engines or it is just wastage of time?

As I have said earlier sky is the limit so do everything which is possible to get traffic and high PR. Local Search engine can also redirect some traffic and that will not be a bad deal.

It is a waste of time if that directory does not contain credible listing and if the directory owner is not exerting any effort to up the directory's page rank.

You are right and it will be useless if directory will not have any PR. I think this is necessary for directories to have PR. Directories can redirect traffic only if they have traffic.

I submitted mine in a local directory site. It is popular local site where surfers tend to go when they search local specific web sites. It can help in your site promotion.

This is quite effective as far as I am concerned because my target visitors are also in my local areas. You can expect a multiplier effect if one is able to find your site and likes it.

Yeah that's why I have started this because I want to tell other people about benefits of these local search engines and directories.

Your online local directory is like your local newspaper. We should not overlook its importance as a venue for promotion. The local directory only needs to be regularly updated to be credible.

It is still worth even if your local directory has a low PR. In due time if that local directory is populated, you expect its PR to get higher and your site will also benefit from that.
