On a webmaster forum, I came to know that Yahoo directory will charge you $300 for a single link. I am wondering that who will be going to list his site there. This is a big amount for me to list a site in directory and probably I shall not do so. Will you do this?

It all depends on PR. Obviously site and directories with high PR will charge you more money. I think yahoo has very strong PR and it will not be bad deal if someone can spend money on it. If I shall have this money, I shall not hesitate to spend.

That is only peanuts for heavy advertisers. For advertising in different media like tv, radio  and newspaper, that rate is cheap. Yahoo has a page rank of at least 8. Getting listing would mean you mostly get a PR of 7.

As far as I know, Yahoo can offer you more than the inclusion of your site in its directory. The given rate also includes ad exposure of your site in other Yahoo's advertising avenues.
