I have both desktop and a laptop but i liketo work on my laptop as it is much more convenient for me as compared to my desktop.

laptops are pretty good for traveling but I like to use my Desktop while staying at home. There are many reasons like larger screen and my favorite keyboard. My desktop is more powerful and rich in resources.

I am wondering that why people like desktops. I think there is nothing better than Laptops. I have a Sony Vaio and these are the best laptops on this planet.

All of us can't afford to have Laptops so there are some people like me who have only Desktops. It depends on our needs as well because if I am not a traveler then probably I shall not need it.

For mobility reason I use laptop. But there is no substitute for a desktop which is for server use. I use both of them for personal and official use.

Desktop. It is because I can assemble the peripherals I opt to have. For a laptop, I don't have much flexibility not unless there are good peripherals which can be attached via USB port.

I have been an Apple Customer since 1983.  Always owned a desktop.  Prefer to have the CPU and screen separate.  Also allows me to have a larger screen.

If I am at home or at office than certainly I would like to have my desktop with 29" flat monitor. Otherwise my Vaio will be my companion and I use them.

Both have their own benefit and flaws.
